EVAN 101 Witness Report

Liberty EVAN 101 Witness Report Answers

There are 2 options for this paper. Option A: If you profess to be “saved” (as defined by this course), then you will witness to 1 unbeliever and write a paper detailing the account. Option B: If you do not profess to be “saved” (as defined by this course), then you will write a paper expounding on the topic “Why I Am Still Not A Christian.” For both options, the paper must be a minimum of 1 and 1/2 pages and a maximum of 2 pages. You must adhere to both the minimum and the maximum page limits!

This assignment is due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Friday of Module/Week 8.

Guidelines for Option A

If you are a believer, then you are required to witness to an unbeliever (as defined by this course) during the time restraint of the course. The encounter that you write about must be face-to-face or on the phone (not a virtual encounter—via internet, email, IM, etc.) and it must occur while you are enrolled in this particular course. You are not permitted to document a “mock” or “role-played” witnessing encounter. If you strike up a conversation with someone and discuss your faith with him/her but through the conversation you find out that he/she was already saved prior to your conversation, you must find another individual who is not saved to witness to and document the account for this report. You are not required to witness to a stranger; you may witness to anyone who is not a believer even if it is a family member, co-worker, or friend.

Your paper must be formatted in current APA, MLA, or Turabian style (whichever corresponds to your degree program). A sample paper format can be found in the Course Content section of this class.

The body of your report must be presented in three parts as follows:

PART ONE—What method of evangelism did you use and how did you start the conversation? What method did you use? Why did you choose to use that method? How did you start the conversation? NOTE: If you choose to use the methods of Lifestyle, Friendship, Servant or a similar type of evangelism, you need to keep in mind that “proclamation” is part of these methods. Dr. Early and Dr. Wheeler speak about this extensively in your textbook. For the purpose of this assignment, proclamation must be a part of your encounter. If you have any questions, please contact your instructor for clarification.

PART TWOWhat was the reaction (questions/comments/statements) of the unbeliever? For example, was he/she hostile, penitent, curious, confused, etc? Explain, offer examples, paraphrased quotes, etc.

PART THREE—How did you conclude the conversation in order to follow up? If the person accepted Christ, did you give him the name of a church to attend, invite her to a Bible study, give your phone number, give a Bible, etc.? If the person did not accept Christ, did you set up another time to talk, give him a tract, invite her to church, give your phone number, etc.?

NOTE: Do not use the full name of the individual to whom you witnessed. Limit your references to his or her initials only. You will not be penalized if the individual does not accept Christ during this witnessing encounter. Salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit! You will, however, be graded on if you adequately fulfill the requirements of each “Part” of this report and are able to document this clearly and succinctly through your report.
